How We Work - About WLP
Wirral Learning Partnership Board,Executive & Funding Group
WLP Board is responsible for strategy, policies and the effective working of the partnership.
Each partner organisation has one seat on the board with the exception of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council, which has three seats for representatives from Children and Young People’s Services, Lifelong Learning Service and Regeneration.
The board meets quarterly to receive reports from WLP Executive; review progress and performance; discuss policy and partnership briefings. The board also convenes the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund commissioning Group, which is responsible for commissioning NRF projects that meet WLP strategic objectives.

WLP Executive
WLP Executive is responsible for: Communications,Funding,Networking Research,Planning,Monitoring and Evaluation and Wirral Learning Community.
The WLP Executive reports to the WLP Board and has delegated responsibility for certain decisions.
The WLP Executive is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the WLP business plan, which is agreed with LSC Greater Merseyside. The executive receives reports from the action theme champions and monitors the progress of the action the plans.
An important role of the WLP Executive is to establish and maintain communications and network with other LSP thematic partnerships, Wirral networks, regional and sub regional partnerships and groups.

WLP Funding Group
WLP funding group is responsible for :- Commissioning projects, Bid Assessment, Funding Allocation, Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting , Identifying and Seeking External Funding.
The Funding Group reports to the Executive and has some delegated responsibilities. One of its critical responsibilities is the monitoring of NRF projects. The commissioning of NRF projects is through the WLP NRF commissioning sub group, which is convened solely for this purpose.
