Action Theme Champions & Children & Young People Champion
Action Theme Champion will be nominated by the WLP Board and will sit on the WLP executive. The champions will change dependent on the action themes identified as priorities by the WLP Board.
The Role of Action Theme Champions
- To lead on identifying and agreeing actions, developing the action plan, milestones and success criteria and reporting on progress to the WLP executive.
- To lead a theme team drawn from across the partnership.
Action Theme Teams
- May comprise members of the WLP Board and/or may be drawn from partner organisations.
- The structure of the team, the method of working and the processes used will be determined to reflect the type of action undertaken and will be fit for purpose.
- The action theme team will be supported by the Learning Partnership Manager
- Funding will be available for use by the action theme from the WLP budget.
WLP Board members will identify appropriate resources from their own organisations to support and participate in the action theme teams and will agree to share information.

Action Themes will deliver OUTCOMES that Make a Difference to Wirral.
WLP & Children and Young Peoples Services
WLP delegates responsibility for children and young peoples learning to the 14 -19 Area Wide Inspection steering group and the Children and Young People strategy and planning groups.
The C&YP Champion is the communication link between the WLP Executive and these groups.
Role of Children and Young People Champion
- Provide link between C&YPS and Wirral Learning Partnership through WLP Executive
- To inform WLP Executive of key developments in Children and Young Peoples Services
- To take back requests for information and clarification to AWI steering group and C&YPS strategy and planning groups
- To report to WLP Executive on delegated LSP Key Measures and Performance Indicators.
